Rossi '92 45 colt pressure limits

I have been reading through the forum on Rossi '92 45 colt higher pressure loads. I see that they can withstand higher than standard 45 pressures. I have a late 1990s issue Rossi '92 in 45 colt. So far I have shot standard or light loads in it. Does anyone know if the 1990s steel will hold up to higher pressures. Would this be considered "modern" steel compared to the newer 454 Puma? Specifically, I use a 300 gr bullet, 21 +gr H110 in my blackhawk. Does anyone have experience with this vintage Roosi or have load and data advice? I would like to develope a good hardcast load to use on my local hog population.
Thanks,
Phil

Short answer is yes your Rossi will handle "Ruger loads". But work up to them and check for pressure problems! I shoot "Ruger" loads in my Win 94 but not the top end loads!
Thank you. Do you have any favorite loads that you want to share. I have been shooting cast bullets at standard velocity in my Rossi and Ruger. I have been using Hornady XTP for my "Ruger only" loads. I would like to try some cast bullets instead.

I've been shooting my stainless Interarms Rossi .45 for a few years now using +p+ loads. I found the sweet spot at 23 grains of Lil Gun under eithe a 300 gr XTP or 315 gr WFN. With receiver sights, it will stay under an inch at 50 yds. That steel buttplate sure lets you know it's there! I'm guessing those loads are about 35K psi and I'm using cut down 454 brass.

I use an Oregon Trail Laser Cast 255 gr bullet on top of 27 gr H-110 in Starline brass with a Winchester large pistol primer. This load works extremely well in both my Puma and my Blackhawk.

WOW! I had better work up cautiously. I don't think I'll go quite that high. That steel buttplate does get tough after a while. Thanks to all for the help. I'm looking forward to trying it on our local hog population. I'll try to get some loads under developement and let you know how it works.

Oh yeah! You're quite right. That steel buttplate makes a nice purple bruise on my shoulder after shooting a dozen rounds or so. But believe me, you won't notice a thing when you have a fat hog dead center in the sights. This load will knock DRT (Dead Right There) anything in North America and is ABSOLUTELY SAFE in your Puma. The 1892 action is incredibly strong, way more so than ANY Ruger or Thompson Center pistol.

My fovorite load for my Win 94 is 300gr WFNGC 21.5 grs of H110 or 22 gr of W296 Both are a grain under max! Plenty of muscle behind these! They come out at aroung 1650 fps! Which by the way is what my 454 SRH will get!
Thanks. That load looks pretty close to what I've been using in my Bisley. I'm heading out now with my Bisley Ruger. Hope to get a hog up close. I hope to get some the rifle sited in this weekend.
