I bought one that slips on my savage edge

 

Have you looked at a good slip on recoil pad if you can get the limb saver it is worth the money I can tell a difference on my 300 wsm

 

Just because it's hollow doesn't mean you can't put a new pad on it. If the present pad is screwed on it's just a matter of grinding a new one and screwing it on . You might have to redrill for one or both screws so they line up with the bosses in the stock ! If your present pad is glued on , that entails a whole nother degree of difficulty !
